My global peace channel

My Global Peace class studies multiple aspects of solving the world's problems. We've studied the words of Gandhi and other great peace leaders and take those words and compare them to violent and peaceful situations and see what is what.  In this action project we had to fast our own protest. That includes the advertising, planning, leading, etc. People need a person to light the fire beneath them and show them to stand up and fight for justice and equality. My project was to use technology to spread awareness and light that fire so people can stand up and fight. I think that maybe if it's coming from a person who is going to be the next generation of leaders that maybe people may pay attention knowing that a lot of problems now lay on our shoulders. I am creating a video channel and will post videos on different problems. They will include facts and what the current situation is and how we can change a issue into a solution. In gandhi's words this would be seredova because I will be spreading information to rise everyone else.

I am addressing Capitalism. Capitalism is structural violence because when the corporate owners take from us, it can physically hurt us. Us as in the people who rely on the corporates to give us medicine and food because they make it. So why should we rely on them so much while they have turned their backs on us all the time.

I think my main goal is to create munity by lighting the fire benight people and showing them how to rise up and fight. This may be against what most leaders are against but I think at this point we are so far past peaceful because nothing is getting better. Its making our voice be heard and show our feelings.

The fight between most workers and CEO’s are the same. The CEO gets paid tod much, and the workers who are the heart of the company get paid next to nothing. The workers just want fair pay and maybe some health benefits and to just be treated like humans

In a iceberg model, I put the main problem of capitalism, but thats such a huge word so I broke it down to poverty. The underlying problems included greed, freedom to do whatever, exemption from most laws, throws off cycle of money so easily, “The American Dream”. Those are just ones that popped into my head, but there's so many more reasons.

The workers would be at Awareness because the workers know what’s going on and demand equality.  The CEO’s are between Dehumanization and restriction because I think the CEO’s think that the workers are not as smart as them or thinks less of them for whatever reason.

One group I can think that would be closer to how I think would be the Anonymous group of hackers. I think that their goal towards taking down the smoke and mirrors by government. I think the same way but not only with the government but also with the corporates. The only problem with this is that Anonymous is not a offical group with a hierarchy so it’s really unclear what they do or do not stand for. Although some of the veteran hackers of anonymous say that they do not support terror or animal abuse. Their was a huge case in Steuben, Ohio where two football student drugged and raped a woman. Then these boys went to boast about it on twitter and took pictures. When the police got involved the boys deleted everything and hide all evidence. So when the police tried to prosecute the boys said it never happened and the girl was making it up. That's when veteran Anonymous member Deric Lostutter took charge and hacked into the boys cell phone and twitter to uncover all the files. In the end the boys were prosecuted, but in the process the FBI found Deric and raided his house. He faces more jail time than the two boys.

Whats Warframe

Warframe is a game that can't quite be classified into one sector of gaming. Whilst it some can call it a MMO (massive multiplayer online) or a RPG (role playing game), but some call it a Indie game because it started off with costumer based funding though in game purchases before moving to corporate aid from Microsoft and Sony. Nevertheless Warframe continues to to be free to purchase and has claimed the love of many gamers.

Warframe will always have a special place in all of its players and If anyone ever asked me what game I love most it will always be Warframe.

I Am Malala

This is a intro putting in at a later date so I don't remember that much about the class. What I can tell you is this was in my MDG's class where we talk about Millennium Development Goals, And SDG's which stood for Sustainable Development Goal's. I Am Malala was a perfect fit because it follows the life of a girl struggling against the problems in her country. This is a short presentation on what the book is about.

There are Women too

“We pledge ourselves to liberate all our people from the continuing bondage of poverty, deprivation, suffering, gender and other discrimination” -Nelson Mandela. Gender equality effects to many to much and this is something that must be changed soon. Now in our current state we have made big changes since 100 years ago but I want to show you where we really are. For example purposes I am going to compare two countries, America and Ukraine. How far both countries are doing with domestic violence, marriage choices, and healthcare for women.

America

Domestic violence is probably the biggest problem america is facing. Of all domestic violence suffered in america 85% of victims are women. 38,028,000 women are abused everyday and 3 women die from it everyday all by current or former spouses. Marriage choice is not a problem in america. If a women does not want to marry a man than she has every right to chose not to.

Ukraine

As much as I looked I could not find any statistics on marriage choices in Ukraine, but taking into mind that Ukraine has sex trafficking I would bet that women are being forced to marry by their owner. Not only does Ukraine suffer from domestic violence but also suffer from large amounts of sex trafficking. It’s so bad that in 2007 a Ukrainian women started a hot-line called La Strada for women who are being abused. Since it’s starting calls have doubled.

What are MDG's

LM

This is my MDG's class where we talk about not only problems that affect us as people in a rich country but to speak of the issues that effect the entire world. In this post I am going to talk about what MDG's are and my thoughts on it.
___________________________________________________________________
A MDG is a issue the United Nations decided is a huge problem that they plan to solve in the next 1000 years. I think the real problem is everything based on death or pain, like poverty and hunger and sickness and so forth.
Etereuti,(2016),United Nations Flag,Pixabay

I don’t agree with much of what the UN does, but if there was one thing I had to pick it would be their plan to eliminate poverty in developing countries. To change a struggling counties It is necessary to bring in higher paying jobs inside to the people living in the poor conditions. At the same time you must not bring in jobs from places like coca cola or businesses that ruin the people in the long run.

If I was the UN I would cut the big corporate greed and regulate strict laws on what they can do. I would then create a baseline of what basic human rights are. First all people all over the world should have access to clean water along with the tools for the things that follow the use of water like cleaning of all sorts personal or environmental. People should all have the access to food 24 hours of the day. All in all I would push to my goal of eliminating the greed in the world and spreading the materials around the world.

A theme of a MDG is a subject of a problem in the world. MDG stands for all issues that must be resolved and how we can resolve them with some simple actions. Not only should all people follow what the UN says is a MDG people should follow what they think a MDG is because the only way to fix a problem is to all work together in what we think the real issue is.

Clean or Dirty Water is Water

This is my Water class at GCE lab school. In this unit we studied how to purify water and the pH scale. For our action project we had to create a filter. I had to measure the pH before and after being filtered.

For my filter I required 5 things
  • 2 plastic bottles
  • 1 mesh pad
  • Sand
  • Gravel

First I cut the top off of one of the plastic bottles so I had a place to put in the water and build the filter. I then put a mesh at the bottom to make sure that the next step will work. Then I put in the mixture of gravel and sand. I would alternate mixing and would slightly shake the bottle so the sand and gravel would mix and getting rid of air pockets. Once the bottle was full and place on top of the water catching system I began the process by pouring in the water. It took a while for water to begin to come through the bottom because the sand was not wet. Once the water began to finally filter it was apparent that my filter was as about as effective as blowing on a bonfire. The water came out with sand in it. The blue filter on the bottom did not do its job completely or effectively and let sand get though and fall into the catching

PH was 4.0 before and after the filtration process so no change was made to the acidic level of the water. This water is on the lower side of the scale which makes it questionable if you can drink it considering that 7.0 is the perfect level and this is 4.0.

With the pH of 4.0 I can convert that to H to see what the hydrogen level is. 4.0 converts to 0.0001 meaning that there is a very low amount of hydrogen inside the water also lowering the quality of the drink.

Save Your Water, You Never Know When The Well Will Run Dry

I am a student at GCE lab school, and one of my classes is water. In Water class we learn about the water crisis all over the world. Our class is always trying to understand what being in a water crisis is like, so we can think of better ways to help the community in trouble. To first understand what it was like we had to figure out how much water we personally use everyday. Most of the class was towards the 60 gallon range while I only use 13.36 gallons everyday. We then took a trip to a nearby river, filled up containers and brought them back to the school. Most of us only brought back around 10 gallons each which would be nowhere close to what we normally use on a daily basis.

My experience carrying water was not fun to say the least. At the beginning I grabbed a large blue storage container which now I regret doing. The river was only 0.3 miles away and I was confident that thanks to my past skills from working on a farm, this would be no problem. As we got to the river I assisted in the process of raising the water from the river and pouring it into buckets. Along the way we thought of other more easy and creative ways to fill, carry and not spill. Once the buckets were all filled we began the journey back to the school. Along the way somehow water was added to my container because other people did not want to carry theirs, but I also gained help along the way from my. Although we lagged behind most of the way back we got the most water back to the school.

When it was all said and done I think between the four of us we each carried around 7-10 gallons. That’s almost my entire daily water usage of 13.36.

For the trip I took I brought back around 10 gallons and for an average French person using around 72 gallons a day, that would mean It would take a french person to make 7.2 trips for water everyday.

With all of the weight of carrying seven trips of ten gallons you would require more drinking water so you would not die from lack of body water.

What the world really needs to do is just get along and share because at this rate we are all going to go extinct and we are acting like a bunch of 2 year olds not wanting to share toys. The world needs to grow up and get rid of capitalism and corrupt politics.
